Over the past three years, Professor L\u00e9gar\u00e9\u2019s team has studied high harmonic generation (HHG) in atomic and molecular systems, in order to optimize the flow of harmonics as well as the extension of the photon energy spectrum to the keV. The team now has a femtosecond X source that is unique in Canada, with a spectrum extending into the spectral window of water (284 to 543 eV). Moreover, a new laser source perfectly adapted to the HHG has been developed; its intellectual property is protected by the INRS.
